Kaylin
Sheffield

Second Year Instructor

Hello! My name is Kaylin Sheffield,

I am currently a student at the University of North Georgia working towards a degree in Communications and multimedia journalism. I have been with Swim Warriors as an instructor since 2024 and I recently joined the office staff here where I get to be an outsider of the pool yet still get to see all my favorite faces walking in eager to learn each day. I serve as both a swim instructor and a dance instructor, teaching students of all ages here at Swim Warriors and at Dawsonville Dance Academy. In addition to my teaching roles, I volunteer in the Twos department at Waumba Land at Browns Bridge Church, where I love the opportunity to engage in my faith and with young children and often see familiar faces from Swim Warriors.

I come from a close-knit family and have two younger sisters who continue to inspire me every day. Watching them grow and discover the world has fueled my passion for working with children and helping them learn, grow, and succeed. My ultimate goal in life is to become a mother, and my experiences with my sisters and students have deeply influenced that aspiration.

Working at Swim Warriors is a true joy. Seeing each child develop new skills and gain confidence in the water is incredibly rewarding. Being part of a program that teaches life-saving skills is something I take great pride in. There’s nothing more special than watching a child accomplish a new milestone — especially knowing it could one day help them in a critical moment. I recently joined the office staff here where I get to be an outsider of the pool yet still get to see all my favorite faces walking in eager to learn each day.

I am certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid for both adults and pediatrics through the American Heart Association, and I am committed to maintaining a safe and encouraging environment for every child I teach. It is an honor to be responsible in helping and encouraging the sweet kids of Swim Warriors.

"My advice to parents is that consistency is key. You wouldn’t believe how much children can improve just within a couple weeks. You may not see the little improvements each week but we as instructors do, little steps are all you need to bring your child closer to safety."
