Emilia Youngman
First Year Instructor

Hello, my name is Emilia Youngman,
I am currently a student at the University of North Georgia, where I am pursuing a degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology. My long-term goal is to become an occupational therapist, specializing in working with children with special needs. I am certified in CPR/AED/First Aid in adult and pediatrics through the American Heart Association
In addition to my academic pursuits, I work for Residence Life at UNG and serve as a swim instructor. I have over a decade of experience in competitive swimming, including five years of coaching and teaching swim lessons. I’ve had the privilege of working with swimmers of all abilities, including those with autism, ADHD, and hearing impairments. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is watching my students gain confidence and improve their skills over time.
Outside of work and academics, I’m passionate about health and the outdoors. My hobbies include weightlifting, hiking, camping, kayaking, and caring for my growing collection of plants. I also have a dream of living in Australia or Hawaii one day and learning how to surf.
Being a part of the Swim Warriors team has been an incredibly fulfilling experience, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact through both my professional and personal passions.
"Advice I would give to parents: The effort you put into your swimmer will reflect in their progress! Be supportive and positive in everything you do, they build their own confidence by watching you"
