Bethany Grace
Etheriedge

Fourth Year Instructor

Hi! I'm Bethany Grace Etheriedge, Miss Bethany to my students.

Swimming has always played a big role in my life. My parents ensured that my siblings and I knew how to swim before the age of one. Water safety was extremely important to them. I’ve known the Landi family (Brooke's Family) from the time I was three years old. Swimming was constant activity with them, whether it be at the lake, neighborhood pool, river, or any body of water big enough to swim in!

Growing up, the water was my favorite place to be, it brought me a sense of calm and safety, and the water became my comfort zone. I want to help other children experience those same feelings when it comes to being in the water. I also aim to make parents feel comfortable about their children being in and around water. There is no greater feeling than knowing your child knows how to save themselves.

I am currently a rising sophomore, at the University of North Georgia pursuing a career in nursing. I hope to one day be a midwife or pediatric nurse. I enjoy reading, working out, and spending time with my family in my free time. I absolutely adore children and fill just about every extra day I have with nannying.

I started with Swim Warriors in the Junior Instructor program for two years, where I was honored to be a part of saving kids' lives- it truly is the most rewarding job. I knew I just had to work here. This will be my third year as a full-time instructor. This summer I will also be taking on a new role as a Lead Instructor. I will be overseeing four instructors' lessons on a weekly basis the goal being to give constant give feedback, provide a refreshing outlook on lessons, and aid instructors in creating unique lesson plans.

I have worked with over 200 students as young as six months old, up to twelve. Through swim instructing I have had experience working with students affected by ADD, ADHD, behavioral disorders, spina bifida, sensory processing disorder, and autism. I am also certified in CPR/AED/First Aid in adult and pediatrics through the Red Cross. This job has brought about so many opportunities in my life and has continued to help me grow as a person. I will be forever thankful for that.

I am beyond excited to be working with all of the Swim Warrior families again this summer, it’s going to be a good one!

"My favorite part of swim lessons is watching a swimmer's confidence grow. It never gets old to see fear turn into joy! The moment they show me a back float I let out a sigh of relief, knowing that they will now be safe in the water is such a blessing."

MY BEST ADVICE TO SWIM PARENTS

Trust your instructor! Your child’s safety is our top priority, and we are working our hardest to ensure that our high standards are being met. Each lesson is specialized for your child to help strengthen their swimming ability and overall confidence. Please practice with your children! Little things like blowing bubbles in the bathtub, to taking a quick trip to a nearby pool, will help your child’s progress immensely. We’re limited to the amount of time that we get to work with each swimmer a week, making it easy for them to forget the little things in our time apart. Practicing each day helps to normalize what is being done in swim lessons and ultimately build on the confidence of the swimmer.
