Hi! My name is Josalin Syfert, and I’m a student at East Forsyth High School. I’m someone who loves connecting with people, creating a welcoming environment, and helping others feel confident in themselves — especially in the water.

Growing up on the lake shaped a huge part of who I am. Being in the water has always felt natural to me, and it’s one of the places where I feel happiest. That love for the lake is a big reason why I’m passionate about helping my swimmers feel comfortable, safe, and supported whenever they’re learning new skills.

At school, I’m involved in flag football, which has taught me teamwork, discipline, and how to stay focused under pressure. I’m also part of an early childhood education class, where I get hands‑on experience working with kids. I love seeing how their minds work, how they learn, and how they view the world with so much curiosity and excitement. It’s helped me understand how to communicate with children in a way that makes them feel understood and encouraged.

I’ve always been the type of person who makes others feel at ease, and I bring that same energy to the pool. My goal is simple: to help every swimmer feel confident, safe, and proud of what they can do. Whether it’s their first time in the water or they’re building on what they already know, I’m there to support them every step of the way. I am certified in CPR/AED/First Aid in adult and pediatrics through the American Heart Association.

The lake, the water, and the kids I work with all inspire me — and I’m excited to keep growing, learning, and making a positive impact wherever I can.
