Swim Warriors INC

Hello! My name is Jana Lawson and I’m a graduate of Digital Art/Graphic Design from the University of North Georgia.

    I am a first-year instructor with Swim Warriors, but I have been teaching swim lessons and coaching swim teams since I was 14! I love helping and seeing kids grow in their abilities and confidence in the water; it is such an essential skill and being able to be a part of so many children’s lives is such a blessing. I am CPR/AED/First Aid Certified, and was a lifeguard for 6 years back in my hometown, Athens GA.

    Finding this job was truly a blessing; I have swam on swim team since I was 9 and loved every minute of it. My mother was a lifeguard and swimmer as well, so the importance of being able to swim was impressed upon us from a young age. Since moving to Dahlonega for school I had greatly missed being able to coach, but through Swim Warriors I’ve been able to continue my passion for coaching. My goal is for every child to be safe and comfortable in the water.

    Getting to see each child grow and develop in their skills is truly so rewarding. I want the best for each of my swimmers, and strive to create an environment in which they can be comfortable and curious, but also one where I can encourage them to become more confident and capable! 

Through Swim Warriors, I’ve had the amazing opportunity to work with so many unique children, including swimmers with autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities. It has truly been such a joy to adapt my lesson plan to each child. Everyone deserves to learn how to swim, even if the learning process looks a little different for some of us!

Outside of work I enjoy being outdoors, running, reading, cooking, and all things creative. I go to Creekstone Church and am a part of the band, and I love getting to make music and worship Christ!
