Serin Prathomsuriyakul

Fourth Year Instructor

Hey, y’all!

My name is Serin and I am a rising junior at Mississippi State University majoring in Business Information Systems. I was a competitive swimmer from ages 6 to 18, so I have a lot of experience in the water with swim techniques. I swam year-round at Swim Atlanta and was on the varsity swim team at Forsyth Central High School. I’ve qualified for State meets for both teams I was on.

Brooke and I first met when I was on Central’s swim team; she was coaching the feeder team. We hit it off and she invited me to work for her teaching lessons. We have known each other for 6 years now and this will be my third year working for Swim Warriors.

In the past, I have worked as a YMCA camp counselor, lifeguard, and swim coach. This gives me quite a bit of experience in giving direction to other people. I regularly volunteer at a daycare in my free time when I am in Mississippi. As for swim lessons, I’ve taught children who are a few months old, to 10 years old. In my past 3 years with Swim Warriors, I have had the opportunity to teach children with special needs, which is extremely rewarding. I am CPR/AED/First Aid certified for adults and pediatrics through the Red Cross.

I have great memories of being in the pool, and playing water basketball with my group at Swim Atlanta when I was little! We would rarely get breaks and we were always focusing to push ourselves in training. Trying to beat the clock over and over was draining, so you can imagine how special it was for us to be able to take a break and play with each other. I can’t wait for this season I’m positive it’ll be a great one!!

I can’t wait to meet your kids and families! Hail State!!!

"My best advice to swim parents is to communicate with your instructor about the learning style your child responds best to. Sometimes getting an opinion from someone on the outside can shed a lot of light!"

"I was so happy to find Swim Warriors through a friend at work. Our neighborhood pool is not very crowded was a perfect fit for private lessons, especially with COVID-19 concerns. I was surprised at how quickly my daughter was able to learn how to hold her breath and take big strokes and kick. I especially love that she learned skills like rolling onto her back to float. Serin was fantastic and motivated my 4 year old. She was patient and firm and helped to push her to keep trying. We are already signed up for our 2nd month and cannot wait to continue to see my daughter’s skills continue to build."

“Romans 8:18 “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”

This quote keeps me going because the hard work now is worth the struggle once you meet your end goal. It means a lot to me to be in these kids lives to teach them something that could one day save their lives! The more I do this job, the more I fall in love with it.
