First Year Instructor

Hi, my name is Kai and I’m so excited to be a swim instructor this year!
I was born in Missouri and moved to Florida when I was just 2 months old. I moved to Georgia in 2017 and have lived here since. I have been swimming competitively since I was 5 years old. I am currently swimming at Swim Atlanta. I have a 15 year old brother who also swims with me. My parents are a huge impact on my life and I would’ve never started swim if it wasn’t for them taking me to all those early morning practices and meets.
I love spending time with children and I have served at browns bridge church since 2020! I also participate in the annual fundraiser Swim Across America where I raise over $1,000 each year to support cancer research and treatments.
I am a senior at South Forsyth HS where i’m involved in Deca, NHS, BETA, NTHS, Operation Smile Club, FCA. I am the captain of the sofo swim and dive team. I love the clubs that I participate in because they’ve definitely helped define who I am as a person! I am certified in CPR/AED/First Aid in adult and pediatrics through the American Heart Association.
Before Swim Warriors, I was a summer swim coach and taught lessons, so I definitely have a passion for safety around the water. I’ve always enjoyed working with children and helping others.
I can’t wait to start teaching lessons to help these kiddos grow and learn!
My advice to swim parents is to always stay positive. No matter what challenges your child faces, progress takes time. They may start off slow, but with patience and support, they'll make big strides before you know it. As they grow more comfortable in the water, they'll build confidence, form strong connections with their instructors, and develop a true love for swimming. - Kai katz
